Generalife was a recreational palace used by the Nasrid kings technically outside the Alhambra, thus the longish walk from the parador through shaped hedges.
Generalife has wonderful examples of Moorish design and as I read somewhere 'the love of a desert people for any type of hydraulic work.
Time to leave Generalife and renter the Alhambra proper to await our ticket time for the Nasrid palace.
